On Saturday 31 August 2024, a report was received from Broom Farm Equestrian Riding School of off-road bikes anti-socially revving their engines on the road outside of the premises. The reporter further stated that the off-road bikers were deliberately trying to spook the horses by approaching from behind and then highly revving. These motorbikes were then spotted making off toward the Ardeer recreational grounds.
Such behaviour creates unnecessary danger for those riding the horses nearby, as well as fear to the animals themselves. It is illegal to ride an off-road motorcycle on land without the landowners permission - and could result in the offending motorcycles being seized, and the riders being charged with Road Traffic offences.
