On 25th January 2025 Police Scotland attended the report of the theft of a dark green coloured Suzuki King 500 cc quad from an insecure farm building near Fintry, north of the Campsie Fells.

The quad has a black carry shelf on the rear, black tool box on the rear, a pole fitted to one side and LED lights. It is currently bearing the registration mark SN71 ASU.

Here are six quick tips on securing your quads and farm machinery -

  • Fit immobilisation and tracking systems
  • Use clamps and locks to secure machinery
  • Restrict access to farmyards, buildings, and sheds where possible
  • Keep machinery out of sight of roadways where thieves’ scope for targets
  • Consider outside lighting and CCTV to act as deterrent
  • Record all serial numbers and take photographs
