INTRODUCTION

Recorded below are 13 incidents of criminality recorded in May 2025. Other incidents of criminality involved fraud and the sending of abusive communications via a mobile network.
PRIORITIES
ANTI-SOCIAL BEHAVIOUR
There were 3 recorded incidents of anti-social behaviour in the area over the last month. They were as follows –
On 6th March 2025 at Queen Street, Alva, a male was arrested after committing a sexual offence. He will appear at court at a later date.
On 11th March 2025 at Cobden Street, Alva, two males were arrested after police attended to deal with a disturbance there. Both will appear at court at a later date for several offences each.
On 12th March 2025 at East Stirling Street, Alva, a male was arrested and held in custody for various offences including being in possession of a bladed article in a public place. He appeared at court the following day.
VANDALISM
There were 3 recorded incidents of vandalism in the area over the last month. They were as follows –
On 12th May 2025, a Rhodders Grove, Alva Police attended and dealt with a report of a vandalism after a dispute between neighbours. Police issued the suspect with a recorded Police warning.
On 13th May 2025, at Craighorn Road, Alva, a window was smashed at a property. There are no further lines of enquiry.
On 20th May 2025, at Strude Mill, Alva, a window was smashed at a property. Police are continuing enquiries in relation to this.
VIOLENCE
There were 4 recorded incidents of violence in the area over the last month. They were as follows –
On 17th May 2025, at The Nethergate, Alva, Police attended in relation to a male making threats whilst in possession of a knife. This male was subsequently arrested where he was held for court for the next lawful day.
On 23rd May 2025 at Glebe Crescent, Alva, a sexual assault occurred. The suspect was identified and charged with this offence.
ACQUISITIVE CRIME
There were 0 recorded incidents of acquisitive crime in the area over the last month. They were as follows –
ROAD TRAFFIC
There was 1 recorded incident of road traffic offending in the area over the last month. It was as follows -
On 13th May 2025, at St Serf’s Walk, Alva, a vehicle collided with another, the driver failing to stop and provide details. Police are following a positive line of enquiry.
On 20th May 2025, between Alva and Tillicoultry on A91, a vehicle reversed into another causing damage. The driver made off without exchanging details. Driver was traced by Police and charged with failing to stop after accident.
It should be noted that other traffic offences are routinely detected and dealt with by police without the need for them to be recorded.
INCIDENTS OF NOTE
On 10th and 12th May 2025, Police received reports of a drone acting in a suspicious manner at the rear garden of a property at Croftshaw Road, Alva. Enquiries have proved negative to this point to establish the owner of this drone.
On 29th May 2025, at Berryfield Crescent, Alva, an Attempted Extortion occurred over mobile phone. Police are following a positive line of enquiry.
On 22nd May 2025, it was reported a dog had been abandoned in Cochrane Park, Alva. After enquiry it was established the dog was not abandoned. A member of the public has been issued with a Recorded Police Warning for Wasting Police Time in relation to the incident.
NEW INITIATIVE
The Clackmannanshire Police community team and now using Neighbourhood Watch Scotland system/app to report on community matters and for witness appeals. It would be appreciated to pass on this information to those who wish to sign up.
ANY OTHER COMMUNITY ISSUES
The Clackmannanshire Community Team will continue to target local drug dealers utilising intelligence received from the community. This intelligence is essential to enable officers to act against those involved and we encourage any information to be passed to the police or via Crimestoppers.
Facebook and Twitter – Community Messages can be placed on local Police sites via the Community Sergeant, currently PS 752 Alisdair Goldie who is based at Alloa Police Station.
Enforcement of parking restrictions will continue to be carried out so please park safely with consideration for others and abide by the local restrictions.
