Recorded below are 17 incidents of criminality recorded in May 2025. Other incidents of criminality involved fraud and the sending of abusive communications via a mobile network.
PRIORITIES
ANTI-SOCIAL BEHAVIOUR
There were 2 recorded incidents of anti-social behaviour in the area over the last month, they were as follows –
On 5th May 2025, at School Terrace, Coalsnaughton, a neighbour dispute descended into one person being issued a recorded Police warning for culpable and reckless conduct after the part they played in this incident.
On 7th May 2025, at Jamieson Gardens, Tillicoultry, a male was found in possession of a small quantity of heroin. He was subsequently reported for this offence.
VANDALISM
There were 6 recorded incidents of vandalism in the area over the last month, they were as follows -
VIOLENCE
There were 3 recorded incidents of violent crime in the area over the last month, they were as follows –
On 6th May 2025, at Weavers Way, Tillicoultry, a male was assaulted to his injury. Two suspects were identified and held in custody until the next lawful date.
On 7th May 2025, at Bank Street, Tillicoultry, Police apprehended a male who was observed carrying a bladed article. Upon his arrest he tried to assault officers. This male was held in custody until the next lawful date and was linked to the incident mentioned above.
On 12th May 2025, at Henderson Place, Alva, Police received a report of attempted murder. Police attended and apprehended the suspect where they were held in custody for court the next lawful date. The victim was taken to hospital and is recovering from their injuries.
On 19th May 2025, at Blackfaulds Street, Coalsnaughton, an assault took place however after arresting the suspect and conducting enquiries, the suspect was released without charge due to insufficient evidence.
On 22nd May 2025, at Blackfaulds Street, Coalsnaughton, a member of the public has been assaulted and robbed of their wallet and money. Enquiries are continuing to identify the suspects.
On 29th May 2025, at Chapelle Crescent, Tillicoultry, wooden frame to a cupboard in a common close was ripped off and removed. No suspect or motive has been identified.
ACQUISITIVE CRIME
There were 5 recorded incidents of acquisitive crime in the area over the last month, they were as follows –
On 1st May 2025, at High Street, Tillicoultry, a low value theft by shoplifting was committed. Enquiries are ongoing.
On 5th May 2025, at Ramsay Terrace, Tillicoultry, a theft of foodstuffs was stolen from within a property. The suspect was known to the victim. Police are following a positive line of enquiry.
On 10th May 2025, at Nike Factory Store, Sterling Mills, approximately £450 of goods were stolen. Police are following a positive line of enquiry.
On 22nd May 2025, at Fir Park, Tillicoultry, a theft by shoplifting occurred. A suspect has been identified and Police are making efforts to trace them.
On 22nd May 2025, at Primrose Place, Tillicoultry, two persons were seen in a rear garden intent on committing theft – no items were stolen. Two persons were identified and have since been reported for the matter.
ROAD TRAFFIC
There were 4 recorded incidents of road traffic offending in the area over the last month, they were as follows -
On 9th May 2025, at Scotland Place, Tillicoultry, a vehicle collided with another, failing to stop and pass details. There are no further lines of enquiry.
On 15th May 2025, at St Serf’s Road, Tillicoultry, a vehicle collided with another, failing to stop and pass details. Enquiries are ongoing.
On 16th May 2025, on A908 Tillicoultry near to The Glen, Coalsnaughton a male was arrested for riding a e-scooter whilst disqualified. Other road traffic offences were identified and the male was reported for these.
On 20th May 2025, between Alva and Tillicoultry on A91, a vehicle reversed into another causing damage.The driver made off without exchanging details. Driver was traced by Police and charged with failing to stop after accident.
It should be noted that other traffic offences are routinely detected and dealt with by police without the need for them to be recorded.
NEW INITIATIVE
The Clackmannanshire Police community team and now using Neighbourhood Watch Scotland system/app to report on community matters and for witness appeals. It would be appreciated to pass on this information to those who wish to sign up.
INCIDENTS OF NOTE
It has been reported to the police that people are using electric scooters in and around Tillicoultry Primary School in a dangerous manner. It should be noted that these vehicles can only be used legally on private land and with the permission of the landowner. No permission has or will be granted by Tillicoultry Primary School to use these vehicles on their property.
If this practice does not stop, police will seize these vehicles and deal with the users in accordance with the law.
ANY OTHER COMMUNITY ISSUES Community officers continue to address parking and driving issues in Tillicoultry. Tickets and warnings have been issued and will continue to be issued where appropriate. Please continue to report any concerns to police on 101 or directly to us via e-mail. The Clackmannanshire Community Team will continue to target local drug dealers utilising intelligence received from the community. This intelligence is essential to enable officers to act against those involved and we encourage any information to be passed to the police or via Crimestoppers. Several warrants and stops were executed this month resulting in the recovery of controlled drugs and cash. Facebook and Twitter – Community Messages can be placed on local Police sites via the Community Sergeant, currently PS Alisdair Goldie who are based at Alloa Police station. | ||||
