CRIME SERIES - SCOTTISH BORDERS


Theft of Quad Bike, Hawick.

Between 10pm on 10/05/2022 and 3am on 11/05/2022 an unregistered Red Honda 500 quad bike has been stolen from a farm near to Kirkton, Hawick, Scottish Borders. It appears that the quad bike has been pushed along the track and a set of boards used to convey the quad bike onto a trailer or into a van. The quad has been fitted with Bear Claw tyres which are not standard. (Inc 0312 11/05/22) 

 

Theft of Plant, Work Site, Victoria Road, Hawick.

 

Between 5.30pm on 10/05/2022 and 7am on 11/05/2022, person/s unknown have accessed the locus via unclipping the Heras fence securing the working area. Entered and stolen an Auger Torque (brand) Plant Machinery, the 300millilitre Auger Bit (Silver in colour) and blue motor. Total Value £4000. Brand new and never used. (Inc 0506 11/05/22)

Theft, Building site, Crumhaugh Road, Hawick.

 

Between 4.40pm on 10/05/22 and 8am on 11/05/22, person/s unknown have entered the demolition site at the locus via damaging the Heras fencing. Various tools have been stolen from within a JCB digger. Value £75. (Inc 0711 11/05/22)

Theft from vehicle, Drumlanrig Mews, Hawick. 

Between 3.30pm on 10/5/22 and 6.45am on 11/5/22, a number of power tools have been stolen from a van parked at locus. The power tools are largely handheld battery operated Makita and Hilti branded tools, as well as a ‘Stihl’ saw. The value of the stolen items at this time is not known but expected to be in excess of £2500. (Inc 0761 11/05/22)

Theft rural property, Newcastleton.

About 11.50pm on 10/05/22, person/s unknown syphoned fuel from a tractor and then forced their way into a shed and stolen tools from within. Items taken: Makita cordless Drill, Impact wrench, and Grinder. Stihl MS250 Chain saw, Husqvarna chain saw. 20 litres of red diesel. Various sockets and spanners. Value will be approx. £1000.
